When I look at the phrase “ Those who know how work for those who know why” I think of a type of dictatorship or a major business. The people that know how are the ones that are capable of actually of doing it. The people that know why are the ones that are able to make profit off the people who know how. This is how the world works. Almost every great company is built by people who rarely see the top of the ladder. Mostly because they are not capable of the know why. Everyone has there own strengths and weaknesses. It you make it to the top of the ladder, your strengths are right for the job. Not everyone strengths are the same that is why it take the people who know how as well as the people who know why.
I think that types of education play a huge role in whether or not you make it to the top of the ladder. Major companies want people that are highly educated. These are the people with the “know why”. It is true that more and more people are going to college now. In fact about in 2007 about 85% of high school student attend college. http://www.census.gov/compendia/statab/2010/tables/10s0228.pdf . Not every of that 80% will get there degree. And only about 29% get a least a bachelor degree. More and more business want people with a degree. Unfortunately not everyone has the means or the chance to higher their education. These are more likely the people with the “ know how”.
Today's job market is changing everyday. It is become harder and harder to get a well paying job. In a since employers want the greatest bang for there buck. Education is one of the most important thing that companies look for. The national unemployment rate in January 2009 was 7.6 percent. recently, for those with college degrees, unemployment was 3.7 percent — a reduction of nearly 50 percent. http://www.keppiecareers.com/2009/02/09/how-important-is-a-college-degree-for-your-job-prospects/.
In conclusion, I think that it pays to be educated. Your more likely to get a job and keep it if your better educated. When looking at the phrase “ Those who know how work for those who know why”, I think that its best to know how and why, but better to be in charge with the know why.
